So I’ve already started collecting material for my merman project. (the merman is going to be my character, Siúil.) I’ve ordered 4 pounds of blue Apoxie sculpt, which is supposed to be very strong. I’ve also got some basic sculpting tools, and a can of glittery, purple-blue spray paint for color once the sculpting is done.
I’m going with a Crobidoll Lance for the torso section, and I’m waiting for him to arrive. Also waiting on a lovely, tri colored violet-blue wig from ebay, and some violet-blue eyes.
I still have to order some elastic and extra s-hooks, though the elastic that comes with Lance might be enough.
So excited to start this project! I’ve never worked with Apoxie before, though I did a draft tail with Sculpey. This will be a learning experience
some mermaid/man dolls from around the internet. I can’t find any mermaid tails for sale by themselves, and there’s no merman dolls that suit my taste, so I’m planning to sculpt a tail myself.
I’m going to use some currently existing tails for inspiration, then modify them a bit.
Sewed Chicago something new yesterday. It’s a felt poncho-thing with a tank top underneath, some shorts, and knee socks.
I learned how to sew buttons on the proper way instead of taking the sloppy cheater’s way out and sticking them on with hot glue! Yes!
Oh my goodneessssssss, Dollmore just released a LE mermaid. I have been looking for a MSD or SD mermaid tail for a couple years now, but the only options were those Asleep Eidolon LE mermaids for $1000.
Oh this is just perfect. <3 <3 <3 Just the color tail I was looking for, and she’s within my price range. Actually, I was looking for a male merman, so I might have to do some hybridizing and switching of torsos. But just the fact that there’s an available mermaid tail for a reasonable price is just great. <3
Here’s more Andrusha from a couple of the photosets I’ve taken of him in the past two years. This whole time I’ve been trying to find him a new wig, but none of the ones I get look right on him. They’re either a bit too big or too small. He has a weirdly shaped head, not to mention those pointy elf spear ears.
OKAY first post on this blog. Lemme introduce my three resin guys.
First one is Andrusha. He’s a Resinsoul Song, and my first doll.
Next is Chicago, who’s a Migidoll Ryeong. He’s my newest.
And the little blue dragon guy is Ao Jun, and he’s a Resinsoul Pixiu. He was a Christmas present.
